These sweet sugar skull ornaments are inspired by the Mexican holiday Dia de los Muertos, or “Day of the Dead”. Every year between October 31st and November 2nd, beautiful altars, candles and flowers decorate every home. Candy sugar skulls are decorated with floral motifs and flowing lines. Food, music, parades and festivals honor their ancestors and the lives they once lived.
You don’t have to celebrate Day of the Dead to enjoy these ornaments, they blend in just fine with Halloween decorations and are an unexpected Christmas tree addition, especially for someone who adores skulls!
Each sugar skull is embroidered by hand with colorful threads, stuffed, then hand sewn shut with a contrasting piece of bright colored felt on the back. A black ribbon is added for hanging where ever you choose.
This listing is for one orange sugar skull, randomly selected from the ones pictured. Some are gender neutral designs, while some are more female with eyelashes and flowers, and some are more masculine with mustaches.
